Description
This wine is a particular standout in an already exceptional portfolio, and not just because it is the only wine that doesn’t see any new oak. Paiagallo shares the same hill as the infamous Cannubi vineyard, which looks over the town of Barolo and has an east/south-east facing aspect, with predominantly clay soils. This wine is awash with vibrant red fruits: sweet red gooseberries and currants, while a herbal complexity of sage and bay leaf dances through the palate. There is a boundless energy and spirit to this wine, and it continues long onto the finish.Berry Bros. & Rudd
